Admissions

The school will follow the Admissions Policy for schools of the Local Education Authority. Parents may apply on-line by following the link from http://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/admissions

Curriculum

Our curriculum is based around four, 75 minute lessons per day. All of our students have their own iPad that they use in and out of school. We believe that this provides a curriculum which

  • Is broad, balanced and aspirational
  • Promotes spiritual, moral, social and cultural development
  • Develops Literacy and Numeracy skills as well as effective digital learners
  • Prepares students for life after school
  • Offers plenty of opportunities for enrichment and deep learning experiences
  • Builds confidence, boosts self-esteem, engages and challenges students

Pastoral care and Safeguarding

This is the number one priority at the school, keeping our students safe and happy. We have a dedicated non-teaching pastoral team, including Heads of Year, to support any concerns, however big or small. We have a zero tolerance to bullying and our split site means Year 7 students only come into contact with students from Years 8 and 9. Year 7 also has their own area for breaks and lunches.

Sixth Form

Abbot Beyne School has its own dedicated Sixth Form. I recognise this may well feel a long way off but we are preparing our students for a seven year journey when they begin with us in Year 7. Please see a link to our Sixth Form web page.

Transition

We plan to make Transition as smooth as possible for all parents and students. This includes school tours, induction days, open evenings and visits to your child’s primary schools to meet them and their teachers. Please see the support we put in place for transition here.
