Business and Enterprise

We aim to inspire students to achieve in Business by understanding the key principles of how businesses are organised and how they function plus planning, marketing and finance.  Courses offer a balance of Business and Enterprise skills as well as key transferable skills useful in any career such as time management, problem solving, analysis and evaluation.

Years 10 and 11

BTEC Level 2 Technical Award in Enterprise

The Enterprise course is an optional subject and is available to all students. Students will study the core aspects of Enterprise and Business from the perspective of the following  three units:

Exploring Enterprises

Planning and pitching an Enterprise activity

Promotion and Finance for Enterprise

The learning is mainly project based and by the end of the course, students will be confident in the above areas as well as the associated transferable skills such as Project Management, independence and working in a team.  This course is a good springboard to the Level 3 Technical Award in Business offered in the Sixth Form.

Sixth Form

BTEC National Level 3 in Business

This course allows students to explore the core functions of how a business operates across the following four units:

Exploring Business

Developing a Marketing Campaign

Personal and Business Finance

Market Research

Much of the learning is project based, building on the Level 2 BTEC Enterprise course.  By the end of the course, students will be well placed to study Business or a related subject at University or simply use the skills learnt to apply to another area of study.
