Results and Destinations

A Level Results 

Despite the difficult circumstances with results being withheld and changed, our Year 13 students secured some excellent destinations to continue their journey towards success.  Below are just a few stories of brilliance and perseverance:

  • Michael Baxter with three A* grades in Maths, Physics and Chemistry and an A* in the Extended Project, becomes our first student to turn down a place at Oxford University having secured a place at Harvard University
  • Emily Leigh with an A*, A, Dist* will go on to study Primary Education at the University of Gloucestershire
  • Lewis Bates with A, A, A  and an A* in the Extended Project who is now reading Physics at Sheffield University
  • Eva Flowerdew with A*, A, B and an A* in the Extended Project will read English and Creative Writing at the University of Leicester

Destinations

We are very proud of our students’ achievements and destinations. The majority of our students who wished to progress to university gained places at one of their chosen institutions, including the very best universities and the most challenging courses. Other students progressed successfully into apprenticeships or work with training. 

We are very proud that more of our students are now gaining entry to Russell Group Universities and onto Medicine courses. Recent destinations include:

  • Apprenticeships in Business and Administration at PricewaterhouseCoopers 
  • Medicine at the University of Birmingham and University of Glasgow
  • Chemistry at the University of Nottingham
  • Sport and Exercise Psychology at Loughborough University
  • Mechanical Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University 
  • Law at Keele University and Derby University
  • Nursing at Wolverhampton University
  • Clinical Psychology at UCLAN
  • Psychology at Nottingham Trent University
  • Speech and Language Therapy at Birmingham City University
  • Creative Writing at De Montfort University
  • English and Geography at Durham University
  • Chemistry at Harvard University
